Toccoa Woman Dies in Habersham Wreck

A Toccoa woman is dead and charges are pending after being involved in a multi-car wreck in Habersham County late Wednesday night.

According to a report on Access North Georgia, 23-year old Haley Amber Holmes of Toccoa was a passenger in a 1995 Monte Carlo being driven by 17=year old Lindsey Williams, address unknown, at the time of the accident.

According to troopers with the Georgia State Patrol Toccoa Post,  Williams was travelingnorth on Glade Creek Parkway when she failed to stop at the intersection of Antioch Church Road.

Williams went through the stop sign and was hit on the driver side by a 1997 Honda Accord that was traveling east on Antioch Church Road.

The Honda was driven by 22-year-old Jessica Taylor Huntington of Mt. Airy.

Holmes was sitting in the back seat of Williams’ Monte Carlo when it was struck and died at the scene.

Another passenger in Williams’ car, 26-year-old Willie Matthew Kellar of Eastanollee, was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center with upper extremity injuries.

Other occupants of the car also were hurt.

Williams was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for upper extremity injuries.

23-year old Jean Nicole Matthews, of Gainesville, was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for upper extremity injuries.

And 17-year old Jordan Matthew Wilson, of Toccoa, was taken by ambulance to Stephens County Hospital for upper extremity injuries.

Both Huntington and her passenger, 19-year-old Salem Tracy Frady of Mt. Airy suffered upper extremity injuries, but neither was transported to a hospital.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team continues to investigate.
