Toccoa Celebrates New School Year and 150th Anniversary with Carnival

To mark the start of the 2024 School Year, and in celebration of Toccoa’s 150th anniversary, the City of Toccoa will be hosting a carnival that will bring rides and other family-friendly fun for students and parents.

The carnival will run three days – from Thursday, August 15 through Saturday, August 17 from 3p to 11p at Boyd Field behind Toccoa Elementary School.

The carnival will feature a full set of rides, including a Ferris Wheel, Jet Ski Ride, Motorcycle Jump, Dino Ride, Rocko-Plane, Wing Glider, and Swing ride.

Carnival games and a wide variety of carnival food booths will also be available, with activities planned for all age levels.

Ride tickets will start at $1.25 each, or an all-day wristband for unlimited rides starting at $25.

City Manager Fredda Wheeler said in a press release that the City’s 150th Anniversary Committee wanted to kick off the school year with a one-of-a-kind, family friendly event.

She added it has been many years since a carnival came to Toccoa.
