Suspect Arrested in Halloween Party Shootings

Hart County Sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest in connection with the shootings last weekend at a Halloween party.

Investigator Capt. Chris Carroll said a suspect was arrested late Thursday afternoon.

Carroll said the suspect is facing multiple felony charges.

As of Thursday evening, he said the investigation is still ongoing and it’s not clear yet if the person they have in custody was the sole shooter.

The party began last Saturday night on Nancy Hart School Road. Deputies had been called out to the party at least once before the shootings.

Then at about 1:24 a.m. Sunday morning October 22, Sheriff’s deputies responded again to the party scene in reference to an individual being shot.

Once deputies arrived at the scene, they found a large gathering of individuals and were able to determine that three two people had been shot.

The Hart County Sheriff’s office then called in agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist.

Capt. Carroll said they expect to release the name of the person in custody sometime today.

As we said the investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Hart County Sheriff’s Office at 706-376-3114.
