A new cardiac program, a major shift in medical records handling, changes in nursing procedures, and financial reports in the black – it’s already been a busy year for Stephens County Hospital, and hospital administration is enthusiastic about the progress.

Hospital CEO Van Loskoski sat down with sister station WNEG News last week to talk about some of the recent changes at the local hospital, and what lies ahead this year.

He said that, according to the latest financial reports, the hospital is now operating in the black.

Loskoski gave an update on several new initiatives and services at the hospital, including the new hospitalist team and a new cardiology partnership with Northside Hospital.

Loskoski added that being able to offer a higher level of service locally means fewer patients have to be transported to other facilities.

In addition to new medical services, Loskoski said Stephens County Hospital is now reaching new levels of excellence in patient satisfaction.
