Second Week of Early Voting Underway

Early VotingThe second week of early voting gets underway today in Georgia for the May 24th General Primary and Non-Partisan Elections.

Early voting ends Friday, May 20th, but there will be one Saturday to vote early and that is coming up this Saturday, May 14th from 9a to 4p.

Voters in both Franklin and Hart counties are deciding on a host of local races, including county commission seats, board of education races, as well as Sheriff, District Attorney, and Superior Court Judge.

They are also be choosing State Senate candidates and candidates for U.S. House of Representatives.

So far, Franklin County Elections Supervisor Gina Chappalear says early voting has been brisk and steady in her office.

By Friday afternoon, almost 150 voters had cast early ballots.

In Franklin County, voters must go to the Franklin County Elections and Registrations Office in Carnesville from 8:00a-4:30p to early vote.

Chappalear continues to ask voters who want an absentee ballot to get their requests in now so her office will have plenty of time to mail a ballot to you.

Additionally, with Franklin County’s new Web site now up and running, Chappalear says voters can go online to get more information on the May 24th election as well as other voter information.

The Franklin County Web address is www.franklincountyga.gov.

In Hart County, voters will go to the Elections and Registrations office on Cade St. in Hartwell to cast an early ballot.

Hart County voters with questions can call Hart County Elections Supervisor Robin Webb at 706-376-8911.
