Second Week of Early Voting Begins Today

The second week of early voting gets underway today and so far voting in both Franklin and Hart counties has been steady.

Early voting began Monday, April 29, and runs through Friday, May 17 from 8a to 5p every day.

In addition to local county races, voters are also deciding on state races and answering questions from both the State Republican and Democratic parties.

In Franklin County, voters are casting their early ballots at the Board of Elections office on the Royston Highway in Carnesville.

More than 300 people voted early last week in Franklin County.

As for absentee paper ballots, Election Supervisor Tracie Creason tells WLHR News that of the 140 sent out, 35 have come back to her office.

Hart County voters have two locations to advance vote this election cycle: at the Board of Elections office on Cade St. in Hartwell and at the Reed Creek Fellowship Hall on Reed Creek Highway.

Election Supervisor Robin Webb said they had 586 people vote early last week at the two locations combined.

Webb is asking people who have requested an absentee paper ballot to mail them back as soon as possible or hand deliver them to her office.

There will be one more Saturday early voting day before May 17th and that is this Saturday, May 11.

Again, early voting takes place Monday- Saturday this week from 8a to 5p.
