Royston White Goods Clean Up Days Underway This Week

A reminder that Royston’s second annual White Goods Clean Up Days event began Monday and runs through Friday, April 19.

In April 2023 the City Council voted to designate a week every spring to allow residents to dispose of big items without having to pay the extra fee that’s normally charged.

Royston Mayor Keith Turman tells WLHR News citizens can take any unwanted items to the curb and set them next to their trash bins for pick up all this week.

Items can include furniture, appliances, and anything the city would normally charge extra to pick up.

Turman said, however, there are some things the City will not be picking up, such as old tires, paint cans, and oils.

The Mayor said by the end of the white item pick-up week last year, City sanitation workers had taken 16, 16-yard dumpsters filled with white goods to the landfill.
