Roadwork continues in Franklin, Hart, and Elbert Counties

Georgia DOT crews are continuing work in and around Franklin, Hart, and Elbert Counties once again this week and advising motorists to watch out for workers on the side of the road.

Most activities only require shoulder or median lane closures.  Motorists should reduce their speed in these and all work zones.

In Franklin County, crews are repairing and restoring the ditches alongside SR 174 and also resetting the grade of the shoulder adjacent to SR 106 and SR 174. The shoulder and one lane will be closed as crews work in an area.

GDOT crews are also back in Hart County working on driveways along SR 17, SR 8, SR 77 Spur . Workers are removing dead trees and vegetation in its rights of way alongside SR 172

And in Elbert County, one crew will fill the cracks in the asphalt on SR 72 while another crew will be replacing raised pavement markers on state routes throughout the County.

A lane closures is required as this work occurs.

Work is expected to be completed by Friday weather permitting.
