Pulliam Says Drugs, Crime and Rising Taxes His Biggest Concerns for District 2

District 2 Commissioner-elect Cory Pulliam was on hand Tuesday night to watch the election results come in at the Franklin County Board of Elections office.

Pulliam won over his challenger Sam Freeman in Tuesday’s run-off.

One of the areas in District 2 is the Gumlog Community where drug use and the resulting crime needs to be eliminated.

Pulliam said he plans to work with incoming Sheriff Scott Andrews to clear the area of its current problem with blighted properties and drugs.

As a future representative of all of Franklin County, Pulliam said citizens’ concerns with how to stop the ever-increasing property taxes lie with bringing in more businesses to share the property tax load.

Pulliam, along with Wanda Thompson who won the District 1 seat, will take office in January and are both running unopposed in the November General Election.
