Power Rings With a Cop A Success Says Lavonia Police

If you missed your chance to get a free donut Tuesday morning, more fun events by the Lavonia Police Department are in the works.

Lavonia Police Chief Shane Edmisten said the first-ever Power Rings with a Cop Tuesday morning was a great success.

The event was the brainchild of Lavonia Police Lieutenant Wayne Mitchum, who said in addition to donuts, they had a lot of fun little gifts for the kiddos.

Power Rings with a Cop was the latest in a series of community outreach initiatives by the Department.

So far this year they’ve had Popsicles with Police at Romp-a-Roo in Lavonia and Read with Police at the Lavonia Carnegie Library.

Other events included Cornhole with a Cop and a Blood Drive and Child Safety Seat Check at the Lavonia Depot.

Mitchum said they’re already working on the next community outreach event.

WLHR will bring you those details in the coming weeks as they become available.
