Polar Bear Plunge Date Changed

100_2552If you are one of the many planning to take part in Hart County’s annual Polar Bear Plunge this weekend, be aware of a schedule change.

The 19th annual Polar Bear Plunge has been moved from Saturday, February 28 to Saturday, March 7th this year due to concerns about the weather.

Sponsored by the Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence, board chair Jann Hall says everyone is invited to don their craziest costume and come jump for a good cause.

“All they need to do is show up,” Hall said. “All the donations are going 100% to the Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence.”

Even though the date has been changed, everything else stays the same.  The plunge will take place at the Hartwell Marina with 11:30a.  A costume contest and the actual plunge take place at 12:30p.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.

And as in past years, there will be hot dogs, chili, chips and beverages available for sale.  All proceeds will go to benefit the Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence.

For information on how to participate, you can contact the Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence at 706-377-4884.
