No Early Voting Today in Advance of Tuesday’s May Primary

The May Primary is tomorrow and a reminder that early voting ended Friday at 5p.

There is no early voting today.

If you missed your chance to cast your ballot ahead of Tuesday’s election, you will have to wait until tomorrow and vote at your local precinct.

Local election supervisors reported the three weeks of early voting were steady but went smoothly with near-record voter turnout for a May election cycle.

By Friday at 4:30p, the Franklin County Board of Election office reported 2,081 registered voters had cast early ballots.

And of the 130 absentee paper ballots sent out, 113 had been returned.

In Hart County the Board of Elections office there reported that as of 5p last Thursday, 1,965 voters had opted to advance vote.

And of the 141 absentee paper ballots sent out, 103 had been returned.

Those who have received their absentee paper ballot in the mail must return it to their local Board of Elections office by 7p Tuesday when the polls close in order for it to be counted.

If you have not returned your paper ballot, it’s best to do so in person now because it likely will not make it back to the Elections office by tomorrow evening if you drop it in the mail.

Hart County Elections Supervisor Robin Webb advises people with absentee ballots to have someone deliver it for them to her office if they are unable to do so themselves.

And if you have mailed back your absentee ballot, you can track it online by going to Ballottrax at

WLHR News will have live coverage of local election results for both Franklin and Hart Counties Tuesday evening after the polls close.
