More Burglaries Reported at Mini Storage Facility in Hart County

In Hart County, Sheriff’s investigators are looking into more reports of burglaries from storage units at the Herring Mini Storage facility on Beacon Light Road.

 According to incident reports, these latest burglaries took place sometime between June 2nd and the 11th.

In the first, the owner of one unit said his lock was broken off and a cheap lock put on to make it look like the unit was secure.  About $200 worth of items were taken from that unit.

In the second, an unknown quantity of items were stolen from the unit sometime between May 28th and June 11th.

So far, at least four units have been burglarized at the self storage facility in the past several weeks.

Last weekend, two victims reported their units had been burglarized.

In one case, thieves broke off the lock on a storage unit and made off with  $3,000 worth of items, including antiques, tools, garden and sports equipment.  Deputies reported the inside of the unit had been ransacked.

And burglars made off with over $4,000 in furniture and household items from another unit.

At that unit, deputies discovered a metal tool box that did not belong to the victims. The tool box was taken into evidence for fingerprints.  So far, there have been no arrests in any of the cases.
