BREAKING: Missing Athens Child Found Safe in Franklin County

A child reported missing from Athens-Clarke County has been found safe in Franklin County overnight and the mother is in jail.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas, Robin Clark of Athens was wanted by authorities on charges of interference with child custody.

Thomas said early this morning, Clark was located and arrested on Kesler Road in Franklin County after leading authorities on a chase out of South Carolina.

Thomas, along with agents with the Athens office of the GBI, and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in the location and arrest of Clark.

The child, whose age is unknown, was taken into protective custody by DFACS and will be reunited with his father in Athens-Clarke County.
