Memorial Veterans Bricks Now On Sale at Lavonia DDA

More veterans bricks are now available for citizens in Lavonia to purchase have added to the veterans’ memorial walk on East Main St.

Last month, Eagle Scout Nathan Estrada with Boy Scout Troup 51 came before the Lavonia City Council to explain his Eagle Scout Service project and to ask for the council’s approval.

Estrada plans to expand on the existing Veteran’s Brick Walk which is located in downtown Lavonia, GA in front of the Gazebo.

The bricks will be laid in the corresponding branch of the service section.

After hearing from Estrada, the Council voted unanimously to approve his project.

At Monday night’s City Council meeting, DDA Executive Director Barbara Busby announced her office is now taking orders for the veteran bricks.

Bricks are being sold for $30 each and will include the name of the veteran engraved on the brick.

Busby said brick orders will be taken until September 30th.
