Local Colleges Participating in GEORGIA MATCH Program for High School Seniors

Several local colleges are part of the November GEORGIA MATCH program for students looking to enroll for the fall semester.

November is Georgia Apply to College Month and the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) has partnered with the University System of Georgia (USG), the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), private institutions, and Georgia Military College to provide application fee waivers to Georgia high school seniors.

“This Apply to College Month, schools from the Technical College System of Georgia, University System of Georgia, and private institutions are coming together with the support of the Georgia Student Finance Commission to waive application fees for students, helping ease the application process for seniors and families across Georgia,” said Governor Brian Kemp. “Initiatives like this and the GEORGIA MATCH direct admissions program are just some of the innovative steps our state is taking to unlock opportunities for the next generation of hardworking Georgians.”

In all, fifty colleges and universities across the State have agreed to waive their application fees for high school seniors between November 1st and 30th.

In Northeast Georgia, those colleges include North Georgia Technical College, Athens Tech, Lanier Tech, and Piedmont University.

This is the 3rd year that GSFC has promoted application fee waivers for Apply to College Month in November. Over 300 high schools have partnered with the Georgia Student Finance Commission to host events promoting the fee waivers and the Peach State’s new direct admissions initiative, GEORGIA MATCH.
