Lavonia Police Ask for Public’s Help in Gift Shop Burglary

The Lavonia Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect or suspects who broke into the Vintage Owel gift shop.

According to Lavonia Police Lt. Wayne Mitchum, it happened in the overnight hours of Wednesday morning.

The suspect or suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash but it did not appear that they took anything else.

Lavonia Police are asking any business or homeowner in the area of E. Main St. with surveillance cameras to check it during the Tuesday night/Wednesday morning time frame for any suspicious person or persons.

Store owner Raina Trexell would not comment on the break-in other than to say she forgives the person and is praying for them.
