Lake Hartwell Community Bible Study Begins August 28

The Lake Hartwell Community Bible Study class will begin another term on Wednesday, August 28 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Lavonia First Baptist Church at 95 Bowman St. in Lavonia.

The Lake Hartwell Community Bible Study is an interdenominational, in-depth class for women of all ages and all levels of Bible knowledge.

Alexis Livesay is the Teaching Director for Community Bible Study Lake Hartwell.

Livesay said Community Bible Study was started by a couple in Maryland in the 1970s with a small group of people interested in learning about the Bible.

But since then has grown across the Country.

Since 1975, the Community Bible Studies have grown and spread across the country without any advertising, publicity, or human planning.

The Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the birthplace of the first class, now has 19 classes.

Livesay emphasizes that you don’t have to be a Christian or even know anything about the Bible to come and be a part of the Wednesday morning classes.

Livesay attendees include young moms with babies and older ladies who have great experiences to share. The core groups are mixed and not separated by age.

Livesay said the Lavonia Wednesday class studies a different book every semester.

This year, the class will study the Book of Matthew.

And there is childcare available that includes stories and crafts for the kiddos.

Livesay the Community Bible Study is a great way to make connections with others who might be going through the same thing you are.
