Hartwell Voters Go to The Polls Tuesday for Two Run-off Races

Voters in Hartwell will go to the polls Tuesday to select two new City Council members.

None of the candidates for two council seats received 50% plus 1 of the vote on November 7th.

For the Council seat to succeed Stephens Ayers, the two with the most votes were Debbie Henry with 253 votes or 40% of the votes and Richard Sheller with 156 votes or 25% of the votes.

And for the City Council seat to succeed Tony Haynie the run-off is between candidates Zach Adams and Jermaine Durham.

Adams received 212 votes or 35% of the vote and Durham received 253 votes or 41% of the vote.

Early voting ended Friday and there is no early voting today.

Those wanting to cast in-person ballots Tuesday will go to the First United Methodist Church gym in Hartwell.

Polls will open at 7a and will close at 7p.
