Hartwell Ministry Offering Grief Support Classes

For many Valentine’s Day is just another special day they have to try and get through.

Instead of flowers, chocolate, and cards, it’s a day of sadness, remembering a loved one who has passed away. But a ministry in Hartwell wants to help people cope with that loss and sorrow.

This month, Sardis Baptist Church will host a 13-week support group called GriefShare.

GriefShare Ministry is a local – community-wide ministry that provides those who have lost a loved one a venue where they can talk about their loss in a safe, caring environment, and where others understand what they’re going through.

Through the 13-week group sessions, attendees will discover what to expect in the days ahead and what “normal”  grief looks like.

Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, they’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.

The next GriefShare session begins at Sardis Baptist Church on Monday, February 26 at 5:30p in the Family Life Center.

GriefShare sessions are open to anyone who would like to attend. You do not have to be a member of the church.

To pre-register or if have questions, you can contact the church office at 706-376-8568.
