Free GED Classes Available at North Georgia Technical College

Adults who want to finish or get their GED can take advantage of free Adult Education Courses offered by North Georgia Technical College.

Adult Education Instructor Randy Wood works with adult students in the evenings who want to get their GED.

He says his goal is to help each student get through the course.

The classes are free but the four tests to get your GED are $40 each.

However, Wood said there are scholarships available that will pay for the tests as well.

Wood said if you fail one or all of the four parts of the test, you can retake them for $20 each.

According to Wood students must be 17 years old or 16 years of age with a parent’s signature and students are accepted throughout the year and can start at any time.

Again, there are several locations where students can go for Adult Education classes. They include the Currahee Campus on Highway 17 and the Franklin County Board of Education offices.

The Adult Education Program is year-round and registration takes place twice a month. Students can start classes anytime during the year.
