Franklin County Republican Party Plans Political Forum for March

The Franklin County Republican Party has announced the date for a Political Forum with all candidates running for County offices.

Party member Angela Whidby said the forum will be on Saturday, March 23 at Franklin Springs City Hall.

Whidby said it’s an opportunity for the public to come out and hear the candidates for each office and ask questions.

“Everyone will have a chance to write down any question that they would like to ask the candidates. It needs to be a question for all candidates (in a race), not just one particular person. It’s got to be geared for all candidates in the race, such as the Sheriff’s race, it has to be for all three people. Then they will be given to the moderator who will go through the questions, and he will be the one to ask the questions. Then the candidates will be given time to answer,” she explained.

The Franklin County Political Forum will begin at 11:30a on March 23.

Before that beginning at 9a, the Republican Party will hold their Precinct Convention and elect officers for this year.

Qualifying for the County races takes place Monday, March 4 through Friday, March 8.

County races will be held on May 21.

Again, the Franklin County Political Forum sponsored by the Franklin County Republican Party will be held Saturday, March 23 at 11:30a at Franklin Springs City Hall and is open to the public.
