Franklin County Commissioner Robert Franklin Will Not Run for Re-election

Long-standing Franklin County Commissioner Robert Franklin has announced he will not run for re-election in District 1.

At their meeting Monday evening, Franklin said it was time to turn the reins over to someone else.

Franklin said Monday that being a Commissioner for Franklin County has been one of his biggest accomplishments and he has loved giving back to his community and resolving the issues that District 1 faces.

He added that he has enjoyed working together with other Commissioners to make Franklin County stronger.

Franklin is originally from Stephens County but moved to Franklin County about 50 years ago and worked for Voyles and Weaver Automotive for over 38 years and has since retired.

He and his wife of 52 years, Nancy have a Farm in the Red Hill Community and are active in the Carnesville Church of God.
