Franklin Co Voters Head to Polls Today for Run-off Election

Today is the Franklin County Run-off election.

Voters in Franklin County are deciding on four important local races, County Sheriff, County Commission Chair, and County Commission seats for Districts 1 and 2.

In the race for County Sheriff, candidates Scott Andrews and Brian Stovall are running.

Joe Greene and Courtney Long are vying for the County Commission Chair seat.

Wanda Thompson and Tyler Owenby are running for the County Commission District 1 seat, and Cory Pulliam and Sam Freeman are running for the County Commission District 2 seat.

According to Franklin County Election Supervisor Tracy Creason, early voting last week was brisk.

As of Friday at 5p, 1,773 people had opted to advance vote.

Creason said there were no problems or issues with early voting and she reminds anyone planning to cast a ballot today that they must go to their assigned precincts between 7a and 7p.

Also, remember to bring your photo ID with you when you go to vote.
