Franklin Co Municipalities Schedule Tree Lighting Events

As we get closer to the official start of the Christmas Season local municipalities have announced their annual Christmas tree-lighting events.

The City of Canon will hold its annual tree lighting event on Sunday, November 26 from 6p to 7p at the Canon Park House on Depot Street.

Kids can meet Santa and have their pictures taken with him as well as drop off their Christmas letters. There will also be refreshments and caroling for everyone.

Royston residents will want to attend Royston’s Annual Christmas Market and Tree Lighting taking place on Monday, November 27 from 5p to 8p.

There will be a Holiday Market at the Royston Train Depot, along with late-night shopping downtown, carriage rides, and Lil’ Train rides for the kiddos.

Santa arrives at 6p and everyone will gather around the City’s Christmas tree for the tree lighting at 7p.

The City of Lavonia will hold its Winter Wonderland Christmas and tree lighting event on Tuesday evening, November 28 from 5p to 7p at the Gazebo downtown.

The Tree Lighting takes place at 6p at the Gazebo park.

Children will be able to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, play in a bouncy house, toast marshmallows, and eat freshly baked Christmas cookies.

Adults can also enjoy the toasted marshmallows and cookies while listening to Christmas Carols by the Emmanuel University Choir.

The Motor Carrier Compliance Division will also be there with a box where you can drop off new toys for this year’s Toys for Tots drive.
