First Ever Lavonia Vintage Market Taking Place Saturday on Main St.

There are a lot of events going on this weekend in our area and one of them is a sort of mini-spring festival in downtown Lavonia on Saturday.

It’s called the Vintage Market.

Saturday’s event was the idea of Vintage Owl owner Raina Troxell.

Troxell said she got the idea after the Braselton antique fair and the Lavonia spring festival had to be canceled because of the pandemic.

Now that Lavonia has opened its downtown businesses again, Troxell said this is a great way for people to get out and enjoy a day of shopping and fun.

She said the market will feature dozens of craft and antique vendors from around the area

“Everything has to be either hand-crafted to hand-made or it has to be truly antique or vintage decor,” she said. “We quickly ran out of room here. It’s going to go down Main St. by the railroad tracks and Vivian at the DDA has kindly helped us out with electricity for us.”

This is the first Vintage Market and if successful, Troxell said she hopes to do this twice a year.

“If this goes well, I’d like to do two a year, one in the spring and another in the fall around October, which would be a Christmas/holiday market,” she said.

The Vintage Market takes place Saturday in downtown Lavonia from 9a to 4p.

Admission is free.
