Spring Walk and Moth Night at Tugaloo Bend Park
Spring Walk
Saturday April 1, 10 a.m.-Noon.
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the pavilion after the walk at Tugaloo Bend Park featuring some of the early spring wildflowers. You are likely to see three species of Trillium; Toadshade, Southern Nodding and Pale Trillium. Mayapple should be blooming and you will visit the Pawpaw patch to see its unique flower. Also, dragonflies and butterflies have been out enjoying the early spring weather.
Moth Night Saturday
April 1, Dark to 11:00 p.m.
Enjoy a night at the pavilion attracting moths and other night flying insects. They will have two light sets, one white and one ultraviolet, each attracting different moths. There are likely to be other wetland insects at our lights from the nearby beaver ponds.
