Black History Month Program Hosted by Democrats of Stephens County
The Democrats of Stephens County will host a Black History Month Program at their meeting on Saturday, February 10 at the Roselane Lane Senior Center located at 55 Roselane Park Drive in Toccoa. The program will begin at 10 a.m. with Special Guest Speaker, Mr. L. J. Harrison.
Mr. Harrison was the first black City Commissioner and Mayor of Toccoa. He is a retired teacher with Stephens County and attend Morehouse College and took part in civil rights movement. Everyone is welcome to come listen to the account of black history in Mr. Harrison’s lifetime.
After the program, a brief meet and greet with light refreshments will be held. Following this anyone wishing to discuss electing and supporting candidates with democratic values are welcome.
