Early Voting Ends Today for November 7 Elections

Today is the last day for Early/Advanced voting for the November 7 Election.

There is no Saturday early voting opportunity this weekend.

In Franklin County, people can advance vote at the temporary offices of the Franklin County Board of Elections and Registration on Hull Ave. in Carnesville – the old Carnesville Elementary School building.

In addition to municipal races in the five Franklin County municipalities, voters in Lavonia, Carnesville, and Royston are also deciding on whether to allow the sale of alcohol on Sundays.

In Hart County, voters go to the Board of Elections office on Cade Street to cast an early ballot.

In addition to municipal elections in Hartwell, voters in the county and municipalities are also deciding this election on whether to approve the next Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

Hart County Commissioner Joey Dorsey wants to make sure citizens in both the municipalities and the counties know that the SPLOST VI referendum is on the ballot.

The penny sales tax, if approved by voters, is expected to generate $36-million dollars for capital improvement projects in the county and municipalities.

SPLOST VI will allocate $23.6-million for county services which includes $12-million for public safety, $4-million for fire services, $4.647-million for drinking water expansion, $2.5 million for economic development, and $500,000 for recreation projects.

If you missed the chance to cast an early ballot you will have to wait until next Tuesday, November 7 to vote at your local precinct.
