David Jordan Announces Candidacy for Northern Circuit District Attorney

Former Royston Mayor David Jordan has announced his intention to run for the office of District Attorney for the Northern Judicial Circuit.

Jordan tells WLHR News he’s running because of issues he sees with the DA’s office.

Among the issues he believes need to be addressed is the backlog of cases which he believes cannot be entirely blamed on the shutdown of the court system during COVID.

Jordan also cites what he says is a lack of leadership in the DA’s office when it comes to finding and keeping experienced Assistant DAs.  He said, if he’s elected, he would work to secure more funding to secure salary increases for ADAs.

Dr. David Jordan is the Chair of Emmanuel University’s Business Department and is also an attorney.

Jordan received both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (1990) and Master’s in Business Administration (1996) from The Citadel.

In 2017, he earned a Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and is a member of the Georgia Bar.

Qualifying is coming up March 4 – March 8.
