Citizens Paint the Town Green During Homecoming Week in Franklin County

It’s the end of Spirit Week in Franklin County as the Lions prepare for tonight’s Homecoming game against East Jackson at Ed Bryant Stadium.

Lions Football Coach Chuck Holland said Thursday was Lions Pride Day where the team visited the elementary schools for the Lion Walk and were cheered on by students and staff.

This year’s Homecoming Week theme was Paint the Town Green and as they traveled to each elementary school Holland said team members got to see the support from local businesses.

Holland said Spirit Week is always a great way to bring Lions fans and the community together.

Businesses and groups were invited to send in photos of their Lions school spirit and upload them to the Franklin County Lions Football FB page through Tuesday.

Team members are expected to vote this morning on the best photograph. Holland said the winner will receive a special prize.

Holland added there are still tickets available for tonight’s Homecoming game available to purchase tonight at the gate.
