Search Continues for Escaped Prisoner

The search goes on for escaped prisoner Keibron Brock, 20.

Late Friday morning, Brock managed to climb over the wall and razor wire of the Franklin County Detention Center in Carnesville and disappear.

Franklin County authorities, along with canine units from the Department of Natural Resources and other local law enforcement agencies searched a wooded area near the detention center Friday for several hours without success.

After his escape, Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas said it is believed Brock allegedly stole a 2006 gray Cadillac CTS from a home near the jail.  Thomas said the vehicle was found Friday night abandoned in Bowersville.

Thomas said Saturday morning, Brock is still on the loose and the search for him goes on.  Lookouts have been put out for him in Georgia and South Carolina.

Authorities are also asking for the public’s help to locate Brock.

He is described as a light-skinned black male, age 20,  6″3″, 16olbs.  He was last seen wearing orange jail shorts and a white t-shirt.

Brock was in the detention center awaiting trial on several charges, including burglary, armed robbery, and aggravated assault.

Brock is considered dangerous. If you see him, Thomas said do not approach him, but call your local 911 or the Franklin County Sheriff’s office at 706-384-2525.  You do not have to give your name.
