Bowman Taking Bids on Trash Removal Service

The City of Bowman is accepting bids for waste removal services.

Bowman’s current contract with WastePro expires in April.  WastePro disposes of the city’s trash, along with the residential homes in the city limits.

Bowman City Mayor Pete Gibbons said they are accepting bids through the beginning of March.  Gibbons says the city council is looking forward to going through those bids as to provide the best service and price for Bowman residents.

“We are not saying we are going to change what we have, but we feel anytime a contract is up we have a duty to try and get the best we can for our citizens”, said Gibbons. “With that in mind we figured we would at least open up the bidding process to allow other companies to come in and bid to see if their services will exceed what we are getting than what we had in the past.” –
Bids could be opened during a special called meeting next month, or Gibbons says the council may just wait until the city council’s work session on March 16th.

A vote is expected to come during the city council’s regular meeting on March 23rd.
