Application Deadline Coming Up for Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

Time is running out for those needing help with Christmas presents for their children to sign up with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

Toccoa Service Center Director Rebbecca Dixon said the sign-up period ends October 31.

Dixon said on the Angel Tree website parents can fill out an application for help with gifts for every child in the home.

Parents must upload a copy of the birth certificate for each child.

If they don’t have that, Dixon said a vaccination record, a medical document, a school document or anything that has the date of birth of the child on it.

She added parents must provide the clothing and shoe size for each child in the home.

Once uploaded people wanting to help a family will be able to pick an Angel from the Angel tree and buy the clothes and toys they are asking for.

And Dixon said there’s also a new way for those wishing to donate to do it online.

If you prefer to shop for items yourself, you can pick an Angel off the Angel tree at the Walmarts in Toccoa/Eastanollee, Cornelia, and Clayton.

Dixon said gifts will then be sorted and packed for parents to pick up on Decmeber 13.
