Alleged Drug Trafficker Arrested in Franklin County

unnamedAn alleged drug trafficker in Franklin County is behind bars.

According to a report on Access North Georgia, State and local authorities Tuesday arrested 50-year old Charles Arthur Argo of Canon after a months long investigation.

The North Georgia Drug Task Force, along with the GBI and the Franklin County Sheriff’s office made the arrest Tuesday at Argo’s home on Starr’s Bridge Road in Canon.

There, authorities say they found a large quantity of methamphetamine, and weapons.

Argo attempted to destroy evidence when confronted by agents but they were able to recover a quantity of methamphetamine. Argo was detained and was later arrested.

Several illegal firearms were recovered during the search warrant. Methamphetamine and evidence of distribution was also recovered at the residence and shop.

Argo is charged possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes.
