Habersham Sheriff’s Office Celebrates Arrival of New K-9 Officer

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting its new K-9 officer.

The pup is expected to arrive in the fall and was donated to Habersham County by United Logistics.

United Logistics consists of three brothers, Tyler, Brett, and Cody Mixon, who grew up in Habersham County and want to give back to the community and make it the best possible.

United Logistics CEO Tyler Mixon said they have family members who live in Habersham County. He knows and trusts that the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office always does everything in its power to keep them and other citizens safe.

K-9 Officer-in-traning Bane will be trained by ADZ.

Last week, personnel from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Oakwood, GA to meet with K9 program donors and tour ADZ Kennels.

For the second time, ADZ Is donating the time of its staff to train a sheriff’s office K9 from Habersham County.

ADZ has already started helping the new K-9 puppy’s handler, Deputy Holden Helcher, with techniques and demonstrations to help get his K9 where it needs to be starting in the fall.

Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Lt. Travis Jarrell said Wednesday that not only have they spent so much time and energy pouring into the Sheriff’s Department K-9 program but have offered moral support as well as friendship with the Sheriff’s Office team.
