North, South Hart Elementary Renovations Complete

A view of the updated atrium at North Hart Elementary School shows some of the recent interior renovations to the school including the new polished concrete and fresh paint.

Students in Hart County go back to school today and students at two elementary schools will see some changes.

This week, the Hart County Charter System has announced the completion of significant renovations to North Hart Elementary School and South Hart Elementary School, just in time for the 2024-2025 school year.

The renovations include a unified color scheme and new school mascots to embody the OneHartBeat spirit throughout the entire school system.

Both North Hart Elementary and South Hart Elementary will now join Hartwell Elementary School as the “Bullpups.”

“We wanted to unify the county’s elementary school mascots to embrace our
#OneHartBeat philosophy, while also keeping traditions from each school,” said
Superintendent Jennifer Carter. “The new mascot logos at each school still
contain a piece of their old mascots as a nod to their histories. North Hart’s new
logo will feature the old Navigators logo on the Bullpup’s collar, while South Hart’s
new logo will feature an Eagle on the Bullpup’s collar.”

The renovations, which began in May, include extensive upgrades to the 22-year-old buildings, such as new polished concrete flooring throughout the schools, epoxy flooring in student restrooms, new carpet in all classrooms, fresh coats of paint, renovated cafeterias, and more.

Carter said the Hart County Charter System remains committed to providing high-quality education in a supportive and modern environment.

She said the renovations reflect the school system’s dedication to the well-being and success of our students and staff.
