DEADLINE LOOMING FOR LAVONIA DDA SURVEY RESPONSES

Time is running out for people living in and around Lavonia to submit their suggestions and comments on how the City can improve its downtown area.

For several weeks now, the Lavonia Downtown Development and Main Street Program have been asking the public to take a short online survey consisting of about 10 questions, according to Main Street Director Ashley Rose Dodd.

Dodd said the insights and suggestions from the public are crucial in helping the DDA and Main Street develop the downtown area into a vibrant and thriving area that reflects the spirit and needs of the community.

She said so far they’ve received about 230 responses, 30% of which are from people living inside the city limits.

Of those responses she said most have to do with seeing more shopping opportunities as well as more restaurants and bakeries.

“We have been delighted to read the responses so far, as most participants recognize the significance of revitalizing the heart of our city. Your insights and suggestions are crucial in helping us shape a vibrant and thriving Downtown that reflects the spirit and needs of our community. The support from residents and visitors like you is essential to the success of our efforts in creating a space that everyone can enjoy and be proud of,” Dodd said.

The survey will remain open until Wednesday, July 31st.

A link to the survey can be found here or on the Lavonia DDA Facebook page.

When it’s complete, Dodd said they will create a database with all of the information they’ve collected.

“Join us in this important initiative by participating in the survey and encouraging others to do the same. Together, we can make Downtown Lavonia a bustling hub of activity, culture, and commerce,” Dodd added.
