The man is suspected to have stolen a set of knives from the Lavonia Antique Market. The woman is not a supsect.

Lavonia Police continue to search for a suspect caught on surveillance camera at the Lavonia Antique Market.

Chief Shane Edmisten said the suspect is believed to have stolen a collection of knives valued at over $500 last Thursday.

Police have asked for help on their social media page.

The surveillance camera caught a very clear image of a tall black male with short dreadlocks entering the store possibly with the white woman that was in front of him.

Police Chief Shane Edmisten said since their post, many people have called to say they recognize the man but he said none of the leads have checked out.

They now think he may have gotten off the Interstate and then got back on 85.

If the suspect or his assumed female companion see the post they are asked to come talk to Police.

Additionally, anyone with information on who the man might be is asked to contact the Lavonia Police Department at 706.356.4848 or message us on Facebook.
