Eastanollee Teen involved in Church Van Accident Last Weekend Passes Away

A Hartwell man could face additional charges after a teen died from injuries received in a church van accident last weekend in Demorest.

According to Habersham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Rob Moore, 15-year-old Theodore Bone, of Eastanollee died early Wednesday morning at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta from his injuries.

Known as Teddy to his friends and family, he had been on life-support since the crash last weekend.

Troopers said 64-year-old Barry Clark of Hartwell was driving under the influence on Georgia 365 South when he ran a red light at the intersection with the Demorest/Mt. Airy Highway.

Clark’s Toyota 4-Runner slammed into the passenger side of the River Point Church van which was carrying Teddy, six other teenagers, and two adults.

In addition to DUI, Clark was initially charged by Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol with Failure To Obey a Traffic Control Device and Serious Injury By Vehicle.

However, he may be facing more serious charges.

Moore said Clark was released on bond from jail on June 30.
