Royston Police Investigate Four Cases of Bank Card Fraud

Royston Police are looking into four cases of financial card transaction fraud.

In two of the cases, card numbers were used at businesses in Houston, TX, one in the amount of $1,200 another in the amount of $600. One of those cards belongs to the wife of a Franklin County law enforcement officer.

In two other  financial card fraud cases, the cards were used in Royston.

In one of those cases, a card owned by a Hart County law enforcement officer was used four times, according to the incident report.

All of the card cases took place between Sunday, May 12th and Tuesday, May 14th.

“All four cases seem to me related at this time,” said Royston Police Chief Donnie Boleman. “All of the financial card fraud transactions occurred at the same business in Houston Texas. All victims of these incidents use the same local bank. Investigators have been assigned to all four cases and they remain open and active.”

Boleman advises citizens to always keep a close monitor on their financial statements and report any unauthorized transactions to their bank and local police immediately.
