Fr. Co. Run-off Political Forum Takes Place Tonight

The Franklin County Republican Party is holding a second political forum tonight – this time for those candidates involved in four run-off races on June 18.

The forum is taking place this evening from 6p to 8p in the Community Room at Franklin Springs City Hall.

John Hylton, Vice-Chair of the Franklin County Republican Party will moderate the forum tonight and says it’s yet another opportunity for voters to learn more about the candidates and their platforms.

There are four run-off races in Franklin County.

They include the race for County Commissioner District 1 between veterinarian Wanda Thompson and Tyler Owenby.

Sam Freeman and Cory Pulliam are vying for the District 2 County Commission seat.

The two front runners for the County Commission Chair race, Courtney Long and Joe Green will again review their platform for voters this evening.

And Franklin County Sheriff’s race candidates Scott Andrews and Brian Stovall will be taking questions from those attending tonight’s forum.

The format will be the same as the first one held in March.

Attendance is free and open to the public, and complimentary light refreshments will be served.

Again, the forum will be held tonight from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Franklin Springs City Hall on Highway 29.

Early voting for the run-off election begins Monday, June 10 and runs through Friday, June 14.

The run-off Election day is on Tuesday, June 18.
