Franklin BOC Fills Vacant Volunteer Board/Committee Seats

The long search to fill a number of county volunteer board appointments in Franklin County is over.

At their meeting Monday evening, County Manager Terry Harris announced all vacant positions have now been filled.

Franklin County was looking to fill seats on the Franklin/Hart County Authority Board, the Franklin County Library Board, the Family & Children Services Board, and the Joint Development Authority Board.

Before the Board voted, Harris read the list of those who had applied for those boards.

Commissioners voted to appoint Jonathon Bo Roland and Woodsen McFarlin for the Airport Authority Board.

On the Family & Children Services Board, Commissioners appointed Marie Loftis.

On the Library Board, the Board appointed Peggy Berryman and Brittany Owenby, and on the Joint Development Board, Commissioners appointed Mark Sewell.

In other business Monday night, the Board also voted to have Commission Chair Jeff Jacques sign a letter of agreement extending the services of Legacy Link.

Jacques said the agreement will extend the multiple services provided to the County by Legacy Link.

The Board also voted to approve the continuation of the Indigent Defense Fund which will provide free legal counsel to those in Franklin County who could not otherwise afford an attorney.
