Home Cooling Help Now Available for Low-Income Households

Home cooling help for low-income families is now available.

Appointments opened up May 1 and will remain available until all of the money allocated has been given out.

Brenda Dalin, program director for Ninth District Opportunity Inc. said low-income families from the 20 counties they serve may apply. Those counties include Banks, Elbert, Franklin, Hart, Madison, and Stephens.

Eligibility for the program is based on the income of all household members.

Ninth District can no longer obtain the following information for applicants and you must bring this information with you to your appointment:

Verification of age for everyone in the home, verification of all household income received within the past 30 days (check stubs, public assistance checks, unemployment checks, etc.); verification of Social Security numbers for everyone in the home, verification of citizenship (driver’s license, state ID, etc.), and the most recent cooling bill.

All eligible applicants are asked to contact Ninth District Opportunity Inc.’s scheduling system beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday – Friday by telephone at 855-636-3108 or go online to https://ndo.appointment.works/ea.

No walk-ins will be accepted.

Appointments will be scheduled until all funds are exhausted.

Additional information will be made available online at www. ndo.org. Applicants that do not meet the required criteria will be denied.
