Presidential Preference Primary Ballots Available for Review

Both the Franklin and Hart County Boards of Elections have published their sample ballots for the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary.

On the Republican ballot, of the 11 candidates currently listed on the ballot in Georgia, four are left. They are former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Ryan Binkley, and US Air Force Reserve pilot Major David Stuckenberg.

Those Republican candidates who have dropped out of the Presidential race include Vivek Ramaswamy, Asa Hutchinson, Ron DeSantis, Tim Scott, Perry Johnson, Chris Christie, and Doug Bergum.

Right now it’s not clear if, in Georgia, those candidates who have dropped out of the race for President but still have their names on the ballot will have any votes for them counted.

Franklin County Elections Supervisor Tracie Creason said Monday that typically, the State will send her office an updated list to post at the precincts and she assumes that will be the case on March 12.

WLHR News will keep you updated on any changes to the Republican ballot if and when they become available.

Additionally, Senator Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running as an independent but is not on the Georgia Presidential Preference Primary ballot.

Hart County Elections Supervisor Robin Webb said Kennedy will be on the November ballot providing he gets enough signatures in Georgia to run.

In Georgia, to run as an independent candidate for President a candidate must get 7,500 signatures before they can be placed on the ballot. The filing deadline for an independent Presidential candidate to be placed on the ballot July 9, 2024.

Meantime, on the Democratic Ballot, nothing has changed.

Incumbent President Joe Biden Jr. is facing challengers Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson.

Early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary begins next Monday, February 19 at your local Board of Elections office and runs through March 8.

There will be two Saturday early voting days on February 24 and March 2 from 9a to 5p.

This election the State is giving counties the option to hold a Sunday early voting day on February 25 and March 3.

Both Franklin County Election Supervisor Tracie Creason and Hart County Election Supervisor Robin Webb tell WLHR News they have no plans to hold Sunday early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary.
