Important Dates This Month for Voters Before March Presidential Preference Primary

As February begins, there are a couple of important dates this month for voters to remember.

Beginning February 12, Election offices will begin mailing out requested absentee paper ballots.

Voters have been able to request absentee paper ballots for the March 12 Presidential Preference Primary since December 25.

The last day to request an absentee paper ballot is March 1.

Additionally, February 12 is the last day to register to vote to be eligible to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary.

You can register to vote in several ways.

1. Online at the Secretary of State’s website at SOS.GA.GOV/elections.
2. At your local Board of Elections office
3. At your local Department of Driver Services office – ours is in Toccoa
4. Your local public library
5. And if a student, in person on your college campus

It’s also a good idea if you have not voted in the past couple of election cycles to make sure you are still on the voter rolls in your County.

You can do that by calling your local Elections office.

Advance voting for the Presidential Preference Primary begins Monday, February 19, and continues through Friday, March 8.

If you have any questions about absentee paper ballots, voter registration or advance voting, you can contact your local Board of Elections office.
