Five Arrested in Stephens County During Concentrated Weekend Patrols

In Stephens County five people are behind bars after a weekend concentrated crime suppression patrol by the GBI Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, GBI Gang Task Force, Georgia State Patrol Post 7, and Toccoa Police Department.

According to lt. Patrol Commander Kylar Jameson with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, the patrol resulted in several arrests including several drug arrests and seized firearms.

Jameson on January 27 law enforcement patrolled areas where there is high traffic drug and gang activity, which often contribute to violent crimes and drug deals.

Over the course of the patrol, multiple traffic stops were conducted and several people were arrested.

They included Hyteyah Huff of Toccoa who had an outstanding warrant from the Elberton Police Department.

Joshua Arthur of Toccoa was arrested following a traffic stop for Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of certain felonies, Defective Tires, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Probation Violation. He’s being held in the Stephens County Jail without a bond.

Joseph Williams of Toccoa was arrested for Possession of Marijuana- less than one ounce and Possession of an Open Alcohol Container. Williams is still in the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office without bond on a Probation Violation.

Dwight Goss of Gainesville was arrested following a traffic stop for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Obstructing the Flow of Traffic, and Driving Under the Influence. Goss is also currently in the Stephens County Jail without a bond.

Leonard Brown of Toccoa was arrested following a traffic stop for an outstanding Probation Violation. Brown is currently in the Stephens County Jail without a bond.

Jameson said the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office is thankful for partnerships with other law enforcement agencies which help allocate resources for larger-scale operations.
