Franklin Co. Board of Elections Office Re-Opens

The Franklin County Board of Elections is back in its building after months of being housed in the old Carnesville Elementary School.

Elections Supervisor Tracie Creason said they finished moving into the building on the Royston Highway Wednesday.

In June, as the Board of Elections office was having a new roof put on, a bad storm came through and flooded the entire inside of the building.

Every room in the building was damaged by flooding because the partially constructed roof had not been covered with a tarp by workers.

State Election workers inspected the voting equipment and found that none of had been damaged by the storm.

Everything in the office and voting equipment was moved temporarily to the old Carnesville Elementary School while renovations to the entire building took place.

After the renovations were completed, the Elections Office remained in the old elementary school building until after the November elections.

Again, if you need to register to vote or have any other election or voting issue you now go to the Elections office on the Royston Highway in Carnesville.
