New Franklin County Ethics Board Members Impaneled

Franklin County’s Ethics Board now has new members.

In August, County Commission Chair Jeff Jacques noted the year-long plan to bring the County boards into line with the County ordinance was complete except for the Ethics Board.

Monday night, Interim County Manager Terry Harris said he had received Superior Court Judge Harvey Wasserman’s appointment to the five-member board, completing the Ethics Board.

The Ethics Board is made up of two members from the Democratic Party, two from the Republican Party, and one appointee by Judge Wasserman.

In January Jacques announced his research had revealed that none of the County’s volunteer Boards and Committees were operating under the County’s ordinance and had not been since at least 2012.

Jacques, the Board of Commissioners along with County staff began revamping each board early last year to bring it in line with the ordinance.

Jacques said Monday the impaneling of all of the County’s boards and committees is nearing completion.

In other business, Harris told the Board the County is nearing completion of the new Firefighter Training Center in Red Hill.

The new center will serve as a training center for all volunteer firefighters in the County.
