Missing Deer Hunter Found Safe in Habersham Couny

A deer hunter who had been missing since Tuesday in Habersham County has been found safe.

According to Habersham County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Seeley the hunter, in his 60s, was reported missing Tuesday night by a friend who was hunting with him.

Seeley said the hunter, whose name has not been released, disappeared into the woods near Demorest on the trail of a deer.

When he did not return after about an hour and a half, his friend called 911 to report him missing stating the hunter did not have his cell phone with him.

Seeley said the missing hunter did have a flashlight with him and although dim the Sheriff’s office drone was able to pick it up using the drone’s FLIR system, which also provided a direction for ground searchers to be able to locate him.
